Advisory- in matters referred to it by Indian president(Article 143).
Writs- instruments which protect the fundamental rights of the citizens provided by Constitution of India.

Supreme Court can produce writs according to the Article 32.
High Courts does it by Article 226.
5 writs are conditioned by Indian Constitution.
Habius Corpus- Supreme among writs. It meant 'to have the body of'.
It meant to preventunjustifiable dungeon to somebody.
Habius Corpus is the bulwark of individual liberty against arbitrary detention.
Mandamus- 'We command'- writ which asks lower courts & govt employees to carry on their duties. But can't issue against a private individual.
Mandamus is called a 'wakening call'.
Prohibition- writ prevents lower courts from venturing outside its jurisdiction.
Sershiorary-(meant ''to certify'')
Writ which powers the higher courts to invalidate decisions by lower courts outside its jurisdiction or move suits to a superior court.
Quo Warranto- ("by what warrant?").
Writ preventing the unlawful ruling.
Prohibition & Sershiorary only valid to Judicial/Semi-Judicial organizations.
There are 24 Highcourts in India.
1st & oldest high court established at Kolkata (1862), due to Indian high court law(1861).
Mumbai & Madras HC(1862).
Mumbai HC has 2 states (Maharashtra, Goa) & 2 UT(Daman & Diu, Dadra nagar Haveli) under it.
Madras HC has Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry.
Allahabad high court at U.P(1866) celebrated its 150th foundation year in 2016. It's the court with maximum judges with 19 crore people under it.
